Eucalyptus direct glazing yellow wash first

 

In Glazing you start with the lightest colors first. 

First layer is done in yellow and a direct flat wash.

Second layer. Notice that orange has also been added. 

The first layer was bone dry before orange was added. 

Third layer red had been added. That is a transparent red like Quinacridone Rose.

Glazing Method, overlaying transparent pigment one layer at a time creates a visual mix.

Glazing steps: Layer 1 Yellow (Aureolin). Layer 2 Orange ( Mixed Aureolin and Quin Rose) Layer 3 Red (Quin. Rose) 4 Blue (Cobalt or Ultra Marine Blue)  4. Green (Deep Dark Green Mix).

Textures: This piece is a mingled wash with transparent pigments. Salt and syran wrap were used for texture. This piece is a checkerboard composition device with leaving 1/3 white pattern. Oh subject matter, hollyhocks.
